Feeling lucky? Throw the dice & join us for an evening of great gaming!

Atheists Of Utah is excited to announce our 2018 Casino Night Fundraiser! Take a chance, place your bets, throw the dice, and join us for an evening of great gaming action for an even greater cause! Gambling may (technically) be illegal in Utah, but playing for charity isn't!
WHEN: Saturday, March 24, 2018, 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm
WHERE: Sugar Space Arts Warehouse, 132 South 800 West, Salt Lake City, UT
Tickets are only $55 per person. Each ticket package includes admission to the event, a voucher for 10 points in chips, 1 ticket for the opportunity drawing, and AOU merch! Current AOU members will receive an extra voucher 10 points in chips! Not a member yet? Join now!

The casino will feature Blackjack, Texas Hold'em, Craps, and for those that don't play the tables, Bingo. The more you donate the bigger your chances are of winning one of the grand prizes! Don't forget about the silent auction! We'll have some fantastic items available.

Light appetizers and dessert will be served, along with a cash bar and delicious cupcakes by Mary's Cakes.

Be sure to get your tickets in advance as this is a PRIVATE PARTY! No tickets will be sold at the door so be sure to get your tickets before they sell out! You MUST be 21 or older and have current, valid ID to enter the event. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Atheists Of Utah has BIG dreams and we need your help to realize them! Not only does your generous giving and membership dues help with the basic administrative costs that keep us up and running, it contributes to the costs of food, decorations, supplies, and venue rentals for our events, the purchasing of AOU merch, the costs for participation in events such as the Pride Festivals, donations to our fellow secular groups, and so much more.

The AOU 2018 Casino Night Fundraiser is an opportunity to help us fulfill our mission even further by doing community outreach to those who may not know about AOU or are struggling with their non-belief, offering more opportunities for educational events for individuals and families, bringing in popular speakers with more costly honorariums, in addition to offering more benefits to our members. We wouldn't be where we are today without you, and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

Casino FAQs

Q. Is this legal?

A. The short answer is YES. In spite of the appearance of a casino, there is no actual gambling happening because you're not playing for or winning money. You donate money to AOU for points. Those points can be turned into chips at the tables. Each $10 donation receives a ticket in an opportunity drawing. And the donations are tax deductible!

Q. Is there a dress code?

A. NOPE. This is NOT a formal event, but more casual and inclusive. Wear whatever you would normally wear to a casino. But, if you're feelin' Casino Royale fancy, break out that tux and/or stilettos and dress to the nines!

Q. What if I don't want to gamble or like gambling?

A. That's ok, come anyway! There's still plenty of fun to be had. There will be bingo, food, drinks, silent auction, fun, music, meeting and mingling with the funnest group of heathens in Utah! Your $10 for 10 points in chips that's included with your admission will still get you a ticket in the opportunity drawing.

Q. Can I get more points for chips?

A. Absolutely! You can donate as much as you want to for points for chips! Each $10 donation receives a ticket in the opportunity drawing. Cash is preferred, but cards will be accepted.

Q. How much cash should I bring?

A. As much as you're comfortable "losing" (donating) to the "house" (AOU). ;-)

Q. Will the "cash" bar take cards?

A. Yes. But you'll get your drinks quicker if you pay cash.

Q. Will cards be accepted?

A. Cash is preferred, but cards will be accepted. Cash makes the lines go faster!
