"Roughing it" with like-minded campers

GREAT ATHEIST CAMPOUT IX
⛺~🔥~🎣~🌄~ ~🌄~🎣~🔥~⛺

WHEN: July 26 at 2 pm to July 28 at 1 pm, 2019

WHERE: Cherry Campground, Springville

It's once again time for our annual camping trip! Come and spend an outdoorsy weekend with your favorite heathens from Atheists of Utah! This year we are staying at the Cherry Campground, which is about 6 miles east of Springville.

Please bring your own:

  • WATER

  • FOOD/SNACKS

  • FIREWOOD

  • SUNSCREEN

  • INSECT REPELLENT

We will again have commemorative BEER MUGS for sale at $20 each. "That's an expensive mug!", you may be saying to yourself. Ah... but this mug is MAGICAL. These special mugs grant their bearers unlimited access to several large containers of various malted/hoppy beverages. Because there is no cell service available, we can only take cash at the campsite, but mugs are available for pre-purchase below. Don't wait! Get yours now! Pre-purchased mugs will be delivered at the campout.

*~*~* Please NO DOGS or other pets *~*~*

Children are welcome, but this event is geared mostly for adults. People will be staying up late, drinking, and talking. Please be responsible and aware if you are bringing anyone under 21.

**This event is FREE for dues-paying members and their plus one. For any non-members who are joining us, we are asking for $15/night or $10/day per person to help us cover the cost of the campsite and supplies. We won't be able to take credit cards at the campsite, so please bring cash with you. If you'd like to pay ahead of time, you can do so below.

Alternatively, if you'd like to become a member of Atheists of Utah (only $25 a year!), the campout is a free member benefit. Membership fees go toward helping us participate in, and provide supplies for, many great events like this. Sign up for a membership here.

CAMPGROUND INFO

Cherry Campground is located on the banks of pretty Hobble Creek just six miles from Springville, Utah, at an elevation of 5,200 feet. Maple and cottonwood trees forest the area, providing ample shade and some privacy between campsites. Several hiking, biking, and dirt biking trails are in the area, including Left Fork Days Canyon Trail and Kirkman Hollow Trail which can be accessed from within the campground. We have Group Site D. The campground has vault toilets. No water, electric, or sewer hookups available at this location and limited parking is available. A per-day, per-vehicle fee will be collected onsite for extra vehicles, please carpool if you can. Group site is for tents only and cannot accommodate trailers. This is a 'pack it in, pack it out' facility; please bring garbage bags.

BEAR COUNTRY

We are camping in bear territory and bears frequent this area. We don't want to encourage any bears to come into our campground and we don't want to get any bears killed if they eat our food. PLEASE be mindful. All food, alcohol, coolers and other enticing items MUST be put away inside a car before you go to bed each night.
